Why do we have so many officers?
We only have 4 full time officers.  The reserves are commissioned to assist in times of down time (vacation, sick leave, etc.).  They also help out during special events like the festivals, car shows, and other city activities!

CHIEF JASON CURTMAN,  70

Chief Curtman started in Bloomfield in 2000.  Soon after promoting to Sergeant he left to take a position with Transcor America.  He then went to work for The Missouri Department of Corrections in Charleston, Missouri.  He came back to the department as a reserve in the summer of 2005 and was appointed Chief in 2006.  Chief Curtman has over 12 years of experience.


ASSISTANT CHIEF CHERYL MALONE,  71

Assistant Chief Malone came to the Department in 2006 as a reserve.  She was appointed full time in the spring of 2007 and promoted by Chief Curtman to Assistant Chief in the fall of 2007.  She is a top notch investigator and leads are narcotics team.  She has over 8 years experience.

OFFICER CHAD COOK,  73

Officer Cook just recently started with our department.  


OFFICER CODY WHEETLEY, 72

Officer Wheetley has several years experience.  He worked for a while with the Stoddard County Sheriff's Department and is a great asset to our department.

RESERVE SGT. DAVID RICHMAN,  79

Sgt. Richman has been with the police department since the late 1990's.  He was promoted to Sergeant in 2006 and currently is leader of the Reserve Officers.  He is also the supervisor for the Wayne County Road Department and a reserve for the Wayne County Sheriff's Department.  Sergeant Richman has 10 years Experience.


RESERVE OFFICER ROY BOYCE,   76

Officer Boyce has been with us for a number of years.  He has served as a full time officer and eventually promoted to Chief of Police.  He left the department in 2006 to take a position with the Bernie Police Department where he is a Lieutenant and Assistant to the Chief of Police.  He is currently serving on weekends as a Reserve Officer. Officer Boyce has over 6 years experience.


RESERVE OFFICER KENNY JARRELL,  78

Officer Jarrell just recently joined the Bloomfield Police Department.


RESERVE OFFICER JACKIE HAYS SR.,   75

Officer Hays was a police officer for a short time way back in the day when officers still carried wheel guns and wore cowboy hats.  Not much has changed for him!  He got out of law enforcement and returned in 2008 by joining our reserve department.  He is a faithful member of our narcotics team and we are glad to have him here!  Officer Hays has about 2 years experience.


RESERVE / SPECIAL OFFICER,  77

Officer M. Smith is also known as the Assistant Chief of our City Fire Department.  He is a fully trained, certified, and commissioned police officer as well.   He is always around and available to our officers for backup whenever we need him.  Officer Smith has about 7 years experience.


RESERVE OFFICER JASON DOZIER,   7402

Officer Dozier is a former Sergeant and Assistant to the Chief in Chaffee, Missouri.  He is currently a Bernie City Officer full time and a Bloomfield Reserve Officer.  He has over 6 Years experience.
